Can I get a shout out?!?

Someone very dear to me needs some special prayers over the next few days. My mother-in-law is one of the sweetest women that God ever created...and will be having heart surgery tomorrow. It is her 3rd in 7 years, and it is just so hard to believe that someone who is so incredibly loving has heart problems.
I've decided that God put soooo much love in her heart, that it doesn't have any more room in there to hold it all in...and that is why they have to keep fixing it.
Originally, I was going to spend an incredible weekend with her in San Antonio at our softball tournament...but the man upstairs had different plans for her. Everyone, please pull together and pray for this wonderful woman, that she is at ease with her family all around, pray that she come through the surgery just fine and cheery, that angels will guide the doctor's hands while he is working on her fragile heart...and to be with all of her loved one's who are incredibly stressed to know that their mother, daughter, and friend will be on an operating table once again.
Lynn, I know the Lord will be with us all. We love you!

Funny Story

K. So, we are driving back from a quick shopping spree at Academy to pick up a few things for ACU's weekend opener in San Antonio. Well, Jaxon's being "Fussy" in her car seat...a little "waa" here, and a little "waa" there. This draws Mitch and I to our very first expirement of how we get Jaxon to be happy when she can't see us (because we are both in the front). What do we do? We start singing the theme song to the Backyardigans (of course we know it), and she stops crying! We stop singing...she starts to cry...singing again...not a peep. It's amazing how cute she is! Doesn't she look like a lil' baller in this picture? Daddy has her wearing a bow like it's a sweat band.

A Pirate says...

Once again, I turn my head for 3 seconds and Jaxon's daddy has to go and make her too cute to handle!! Our little buccaneer.
Today she was trying to take a nap, and rolled and rolled all over her bed until she landed in this position...apparently the knees in the chest and feet on the bed position is the best! She is almost doing a hurdler stretch...her left leg is killing me, that is her foot on the middle right!
And last but not least another Backyardigans story. Every night before we go to bed, we lay Jaxon in bed...so she can put her self to sleep...and we straighten up the house. Well, last night she wasn't interest in going to sleep...so we put her "show" on...mind you, her original position in bed was about 90 degrees the other way...after she heard the intro song, she sat in this position craning her neck until the show was over. She's so goofy.

Backyardigans Rock

I promise that I do not sit my child in front of a TV all hours of the day. In all actuality she probably watches 45 minutes or so if you add up all of the "broken" times. However, her love for her friends the Backyardigans has grown. We first noticed when Petey was blocking her sight and she couldn't see Pablo do the "Tiki-wacky." She twisted and turned her neck, head, body...just so she could see the TV. Then Mitchell decided he would block her sight with his hand...well watch the video to see what happens next.

Before I got her on video, she was really getting after him. She would slap his hand down with both of her hands...it was too hilarious not to share. She loves her backyard friends. Here are some more pictures I thought you would like to see.

Our little hood rat, post bath...eating her toes.

And if you can tell, here she has a Mohawk (courtesy of her father).

Three Cheers for Family Day!!!

There comes a day, once in a blue moon, where "daddy" has nothing to do for his job and "mommy" has nothing to do for her job...and today was that day! It was so much fun really, first we went to Michael's basketball game. It's so funny watching 10 year olds play basketball, because you know they all see themselves as the next Lebron James running up and down the court. I have actually decided that basketball is Jaxon's favorite sport because there is always something going on.
Well after my brother's team won, we decided to treat Jaxon to some new clothes. I know, I know...she hardly needs new clothes but she had about 3 onesies that fit because she is now into her 6 months clothes. Anyway we had fun at Old Navy's 75% off sale, and we also went to ROSS and had ALOT of fun there! I added up how much money we should have spent if we had bought everything at regular price, well somewhere near $200 would have been spent, but because family day is so cool, we really only spent $70 something dollars!!!I love family day!

My Sad Girl

OK so I desperately hate shots and now what I hate even more is having to see my baby girl get shots. She lets out a totally different cry then her natural cry. It's a "momma why are you letting this happen to me" cry and then it turns into a "why aren't you making me feel better" cry...it is truly the saddest thing. I know she doesn't "remember" it, but she cries like she does.

Beltway, Sippie cups and Kimonos

Well there comes a time once a year where we get confused about what time church starts. Today we assumed that Highland was moving to 2 services because colleges start classes tomorrow (well you know what they say about those who assume...you shouldn't (Lorelai moment for those who understand)). So we missed the service that started at 9 because we hadn't started to get ready for church yet...so then we call around to see when other churches start, and we ended up visiting Beltway Baptist. The church has grown so much since the last time I visited there, and it was really a great service. And as great as the service was...Jaxon was even greater. She danced during the music (well she kicked her feet like a wild woman) and slept during the entire sermon. And looked beautiful while doing it. She wore the cutest dress that Mitch's old roomate (Cowboy) and his wife bought her. Since it is still a little big, it looks like a kimono...but it is still too cute.

A few more things going on in Jaxon's life, she now likes to roll around in this rolly chair thing that one of the Abilene High coaches gave her. She is also desperate to learn the ways of the sippie cup. She holds her own bottle (for the most part).

Still looks good in red (even though the holiday season has passed).
She started eating carrots.
Will pass out on the bed if given the chance.
Looks good in her daddy's Camo hat.
And still reigns as one of the cutest babies ever!!

Slacking

Sorry we've been absent lately. Softball is finally under way (today was our first practice), and I have just been spending any spare time with Jaxon because I know our schedules are about to change. Infact our time together tonight was spent with her asleep on me while I watched Grey's Anatomy. And it is amazing that she stayed asleep because I was bawling. And if you know me, it is a very rare thing to just see me cry any during movies or TV shows. Jaxon has just brought out the softie in me...and man that softie came out tonight.

I won't share what the episode was about because I don't want to give anything away for those of you who DVR shows and watch them late. But OH MY GOSH, it's heart breaking and every time I saw a seen with Miranda Bailey I could not stop the tears.
Anyway, I don't really have any new fun pictures of my girl, but Ashley took some great shots of us in Smithville and this one is a fave...Jaxon's so funny (really look at her sense of humor...she's thinking of a joke right now...she just can't voice it yet).

OH! and Jaxon is now 6 months old. Seriously, that's nuts, seriously (I'm still in Grey's mode).

We are back!!

Well we are back and trying to settle down from all of the excitement that we just experienced. Jaxon's first Christmas was great...and now we are trying to find space to put all of the toys she got from Santa!! Here are a few pictures of her and first Christmas/New Year's. Captions added of course...
Here we are in our first Christams dress and our big red bow...she was so cute at church.

Blurry picture...she just had a cute face on.
This is her "oh my goodness...look at all my presents" face. And how can we tell if she likes the toy or not?
Well, she eats it. This is her eating Pablo (Backyardigan).
This is her eating a pizza teether.
Here she is eating her baby doll.
And Elmo...what do we think about Elmo?
We are thinking about liking him...

And now we have eatin' him...you judge by her face...do you think she likes him? If she is anything like I was, she will be scared to death of him and every other Sesame Street character (don't ask).
Here she is enjoying her Dora soccer ball (eating it of course).
Playing her piano...I'm sure she'd eat it if she could get up to it.
Trying to go to sleep from all the excitement (eating her fingers of course).
Here are her 3 cousins on the Doty side in their Christmas jommies.

Playing with her Maracas (she'll eat it later).
And now onto our New Year's Eve. I would like you to meet our french daughter Fifi.
Why I dressed her in this hat, I dunno...it was just the funniest thing.
Here is Fifi and her uncle Michael in his crazy New Year's hat.
Like every woman on New Year's who loses their top...
And after a long night of partying what do we do...we throw our leg up over our toys and crash.
What else happened over the holidays...we said our first sentence. "Oom boof, oom baba-dada." Which means, "I love my dada." Or that she pooped on him...she makes the "oom boof" sound when she does that.
