Ode to the Flagship

We are back from a week and a half of "vacationing!" We had so much fun and never had any clue that little miss J was such a water baby. Well of course we kind of knew...but we didn't really know what we had in store. We started off our little vacation by working a basketball camp in Crosby...and Brooks and Riley provided our nightly entertainment! We even got to have our first little "date" while we were in Crosby. We left Jaxon with Justin and Holly and went on a double date with Danni and Bryan!! Why I don't have any pictures of this...I don't know, but we went to eat at Joe's Crab Shack, because Abilene is sad and doesn't have one...and then we went to see The Strangers (creepy, country house movie...if you live in the middle of nowhere...make sure you have a copy of Cinderella at home for you to watch after).

Anyway, after 4 fun filled days in Crosby we went to Clearlake...and then we hit the beach.
Beware of 'little swimmers' trying to escape the bathing suit. Isn't that just the cutest suit ever...her sweet 'Aunt' Danni surprised her with it...and some awesome beach toys! We learned to play peek-a-boo...cutest thing ever. She just started to do it in the car ride from Abilene to Smithville and I laughed so hard we had to pull over so I could use the restroom.
She absolutely LOVED playing with the sand!
And she would try to chase the waves when they were going out.

Always remember to stay hydrated when at the beach.

We practically had to drag her away from the water.
The next day we decided we would take a trip to Schlitterbahn in Galveston. The weather was on and off all day. In fact, the minute we got there, the lifeguards started pulling everyone out of the water because there was lightning close by.
You can see everyone DYING to get back in and all the tubes that were abandoned. The sky is kind of dark in the background.
We took the opportunity to start putting on everyone's sunscreen and eat lunch.

Jaxon's sneaking into the brownies. She's way too cool to be related to me.
After a few rounds in the Lazy River...and Jaxon crying because she HATED the life jacket, she became all tuckered out and took a 2 hour nap. With everyone screaming and everything. This gave me time to start a new book. I purposely left Twilight in my car so I could try something different...anyway, girls, when you have read everything I have recommended I have another book, The Last Summer (of you and me) It's a tear jerker...and a little rated R at some parts...but all in all, it was a good 2 day break from Twilight.
After Jaxon's nap, we decided to conquer the slide!!! We all took a turn going round and round the slide with Jaxon...and here are a few pics of her and her daddy coming down it!

Even though we didn't get to stay in the flagship we had a load of fun. Unfortunately the whole clan wasn't together but we were able to visit with everyone we love.
After the whole week...Jaxon decided to fall asleep at her first meal. Heather cooked Spaghetti for us on Sunday afternoon, and Jaxon just started nodding away...we didn't catch it in action, but you can tell by the picture that her eyes weigh more than she does.

So, now we are home...Petey and Tex missed me (I mean us) terribly...And now Jaxon and I are both sick...ugh...Oh well...to the biggest news of all...Jaxon is walking!!! I'll have a video of it later.

Feeding the Ducks.

Well this weekend took us to some new adventures. My aunt and uncle came in town this weekend, so my uncle could play in a gig at a local coffee shop, and Jaxon attended her first "concert." I wasn't there so there aren't any pictures, but Mitchell said she had a LOAD of fun. She was absolutely filthy afterwords, so I'm sure she did have a blast. With them, they brought my little cousins. It's hard for me to believe that I have a four year old and an 18 month old pair of cousins but I do. Over the weekend, we just decided to call me, Aunt JD, and Jaxon and them are cousins. They can just be confused later.I'm sure you can guess what the 3 are staring at so intently, the Backyardigans. But if you can't really see what Jaxon's onesie says, it says "I was made in Texas." Too cute, Mitchell found it at Billy Bobs last year while he was at coaching school. We have been dying for it to fit her.
After everyone left Abilene, we decided to take Jaxon on an adventure and we went to feed the ducks. I've named this one Bella :)
Jaxon wasn't sure what to think at first...but she definitely got the hang of it. She may have slipped herself some bread too.

We were also enjoying the sunset at the park. You can't tell from the picture but that is what is going on.
Here she is trying to throw it.

And this is Billy Ray. Do you see his mullet. It could be considered a mohawk, but it's too low on his head...so it's a mullet, and he is Billy Ray.

So serious in her pink boots and wrangler outfit. I tried to get a picture of her butt, because it has the little leather Wrangler logo on it.

Here she is waving "bye-bye."

Summer Fun!

I now have the coolest computer EVER...or at least the coolest computer I have ever had. Everything is set up and summer blogging officially begins. Today was Mitchell's first day home for summer and what did we do? We partied in the hot tub (we just filled it up so the hot tub wasn't toasty...rather chilly actually) Anyway Jaxon loved it and the bubbles!
Let me out!
She's always so serious.
Well sometimes she let's loose.

We also played in our little $2 pool, which she seemed to like, only it didn't have bubbles.
She mainly leaned over the side and picked the grass.

We have also learned how much Jaxon likes toilet paper and tissue.
Seriously, she will sit there and tear piece by piece for as long as I will let her.
We also have played in Nene's pool...she loves hangin' out in her swimmin suit.
And showing her muscles (that's what she's doing in this picture...it's too funny to watch).
I think she swallowed some water when this picture was taken. Not sure what they are looking at, but it looks like she has her hand up staring off into the distance. She's a clown.

August 2nd

Y'all are funny...and thanks Ashley for setting things straight for me. But yes, this is what is happening on August 2nd. At 12 am I will be driving to our local Books a Million and picking up my pre-ordered copy of Breaking Dawn.

I feel that some of you may have underestimated my obsession with these books and how A-mazing they truly are...only Val can understand...because only Val has taken me up on the offer of reading these books and truly feeling the same way that I feel.
In a way, it's scary how great these books are...I've never just re-read a book...every night my husband calls me a loser (in a joking manner of course), because I'm reading books that I've read 4 times now (of course, the 4th time through I was fast forwarding through to my favorite parts).

Maybe one day you will all understand how great it is...hopefully before December 12 (when the movie comes out), because you NEED to read it first...anyway

For those of you who could care less about the books (sigh*), I won't be putting amazing pictures of Jaxon up for a few days, only because my computer truly has had enough. It won't let me add anything else...amazing...I didn't really know a computer could refuse to do something, but it basically told me "NO! I'm stuffed...leave me alone!" So I went out and bought a new computer (YAY!)...but now I have to wait to set it up until I get an external hardrive to switch everything over...so...a few days I promise. Maybe while your waiting you should pick up a good book...I have a recommendation if you can't find anything.
