SHE DID IT!!!

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting to hear my cute little bug say "Mama." Well, it has finally happened!!! I put her in her exersaucer thingy today, she started crying...looked up at me, threw her arms in the air towards me, and with some crocodile tears in her eyes, she said "mama." Then I was so excited that I tried to get her to say it again...which she didn't, but the one time was good enough for me.

Oh and I promise that one day soon, I will have a video of this girl crawling all over the place!

Happy Birthday Hubby!!

Here's to a perfect 26 years of existence! My husband is now a little over a quarter of a century years old, and still going strong. He has blessed me with a great relationship, a wonderful set of in-laws, a beautiful daughter, a great life, and a stronger relationship with the Lord. I love him so much!
Happy Birthday!

What a Weekend?!

Well, while ACU softball was out playing great in San Antonio this weekend, Jaxon had some new experiences of her own. The first is that she spent the night away from her mom for the first time ever...I'm sure it wasn't too bad for her, because for me...it was a piece of cake (yea right). But I know her wonderful daddy, aunts, cousins, and everyone else in Smithville helped keep her happy. Slumber party with cousins!!!
Silly M and J.

I wonder what they think of each other?
It looks like they are best friends who do everything together!
Jaxon and her daddy in their first hotel trip!!! This was taken after they surprised me at the field. It was so cute...Mitch was standing 20 ft away and started saying "where's mama?" and I turned around and Jaxon had the biggest smile on her face (too bad I didn't have my camera).
Back in Abilene with her uncle Michael...watching American Idol.
A game of peek-a-boo...where's Jaxon???
There she is!!
And what did we discover today? We learned how to pull ourselves up in our bed!!! I just can't keep up with this girl...she is 7 months old and going on 16 already.

She's kind of holding on for dear life.
Now she's deciding whether she likes heights or not.

Can I get a shout out?!?

Someone very dear to me needs some special prayers over the next few days. My mother-in-law is one of the sweetest women that God ever created...and will be having heart surgery tomorrow. It is her 3rd in 7 years, and it is just so hard to believe that someone who is so incredibly loving has heart problems.
I've decided that God put soooo much love in her heart, that it doesn't have any more room in there to hold it all in...and that is why they have to keep fixing it.
Originally, I was going to spend an incredible weekend with her in San Antonio at our softball tournament...but the man upstairs had different plans for her. Everyone, please pull together and pray for this wonderful woman, that she is at ease with her family all around, pray that she come through the surgery just fine and cheery, that angels will guide the doctor's hands while he is working on her fragile heart...and to be with all of her loved one's who are incredibly stressed to know that their mother, daughter, and friend will be on an operating table once again.
Lynn, I know the Lord will be with us all. We love you!

Funny Story

K. So, we are driving back from a quick shopping spree at Academy to pick up a few things for ACU's weekend opener in San Antonio. Well, Jaxon's being "Fussy" in her car seat...a little "waa" here, and a little "waa" there. This draws Mitch and I to our very first expirement of how we get Jaxon to be happy when she can't see us (because we are both in the front). What do we do? We start singing the theme song to the Backyardigans (of course we know it), and she stops crying! We stop singing...she starts to cry...singing again...not a peep. It's amazing how cute she is! Doesn't she look like a lil' baller in this picture? Daddy has her wearing a bow like it's a sweat band.
